Navigating Financial Aid

Join with other kids to discuss a great classic or award-winning book. We will have a snack and an activity such as play a game, make a craft or enjoy a special guest. Our book title for this month will be Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner.   We will have a special guest a the book club.  Snapple the beagle, a certified therapy dog, will be at the library for you to meet.  The book themes and reading level are appropriate for grades three and above. Read the book before attending.  Reserve your copy early from the library. Some copies of the book will be available at the Information Desk.

Mission to Mir: Twenty Year Celebration

Join us at Bethany Library as we welcome Astronaut Shannon Lucid and celebrate the twentieth anniversary of her mission to Mir.  In March 1996, Bethany Astronaut Shannon Lucid launched on her fifth journey into space for a planned four month stay on Russia's Mir Space Station.  Unexpectedly, her scientific research mission in orbit was extended to six months.  She returned to earth in September 1996 to much acclaim as the record holder for the most time in space by any American astronaut.  Tour the Shannon Lucid photo exhibit that highlights her roots in Bethany and the State of Oklahoma and her career as an astronaut.

Day of the Dead Celebration

Come celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with the Mariachi Orgullo de America band at the Bethany Library.  Día de los Muertos is a Latino holiday that honors and celebrates family and friends who have passed on.  Listen to some wonderful Mariachi music and learn more about this special holiday.  Continue the celebration by decorating sugar skulls with us immediately following the musical presentation.   Checkout our materials on Día de los Muertos and mariachi to take home afterwards.
