Want to be a better reader? Simply read! Reading for just 20 minutes a day is guaranteed to improve your reading skills.  Rocket Readers is a reading program for children with games, incentives and one-on-one reading time with volunteers.  Children will read with volunteers for 30 minutes at 5:30pm, 6:00pm or 6:30pm.  We can help your reading score soar!  Word games and all reading materials provided or you can bring your own. 

This is a recurring event and takes place on Mondays.

Chinese for Children

What country has the fastest growing economy in the world and is home to more than 1.3 billion people? China, of course! Elementary students, join us to create Chinese characters using ink and brushes while learning some introductory Chinese. Participants will learn more about the Chinese culture and language from our experienced instructor. Continue to explore the Chinese language and culture on your own through the Mango Language or Little Pim databases, as well as, the many other resources available through the library.

Book Club

Books and Bites for Teens
Join other teens who love to read as we try out different genres and themes of YA books each month!  Make new friends and discover your next favorite book at the Bethany Library.  This new teen book club will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month and will not require everyone to read the same book.  You can read any book you want that fits the theme of the month!  The genre for May is science fiction.  Did I mention we will have snacks?
