Join other teens who love to read as we try out different genres and themes of YA books each month!  Make new friends and discover your next favorite book at the Bethany Library.  This new teen book club will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month and will not require everyone to read the same book.  You can read any book you want that fits the genre of the month!    Read something that has been made into a movie for the August meeting!  Did I mention we will have snacks?

Riders of the Orphan Train

Come to the library and hear the story about 250,000 orphans and unwanted children who were put on trains in New York between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to be given away. Original music, an audio-visual presentation of archival photographs and interviews with two surviving orphan train riders and is followed by a dramatic recitation from the new novel "Riders on the Orphan Train" by Alison Moore, followed by a Q & A discussion. Relatives and acquaintances of Orphan Train Riders are invited to share their stories.

Want to be a better reader? Simply read! Reading for just 20 minutes a day is guaranteed to improve your reading skills.  Rocket Readers is a reading program for children with games, incentives and one-on-one reading time with volunteers.  Children will read with volunteers for 30 minutes at 5:30pm, 6:00pm or 6:30pm.  We can help your reading score soar!  Word games and all reading materials provided or you can bring your own.
