Total Wellness with OCCHD

The Total Wellness program provides FREE interactive weight loss classes for Oklahoma County residents to help prevent diabetes and heart disease. Classes meet one hour every week for eight weeks. All class participants have a goal of losing 5% of their body weight and being more active.

Youth ages 9-14 will learn coding and computer programming skills, and use those skills to create their own games and projects! No prior coding knowledge is necessary.
This is a 6-week course and participants are expected to participate in all 6 sessions (11/7, 11/14, 11/28, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19). They will have Chromebooks and Wifi hotspots checked out to them for self-guided learning between sessions. Registration is required.

Our series of free, public workshops is designed to open new vistas of creative exploration for writers of high-school age and older and to provide a fun and supportive environment for the development of their craft. Workshops are held the second Wednesday of each month at the Ralph Ellison Library from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Each workshop will be conducted by a special guest writer and include writing exercises as well as the opportunity to share work. A partnership with the Red Earth MFA Program at Oklahoma City University, Short Order Poems, and the Metropolitan Library System.
