Friends' Booksale

Friends of the Metropolitan Library System present the 38th Annual Friends Booksale. Offering more than 600,000 books covering a wide range of subjects, plus a large selection of videos, DVDs and books on tape. Hardbacks in the general section are only $1 and paperbacks and magazines are $0.50 each. Admission is free and for the first time, credit and debit cards will be accepted for purchases over $20, in addition to checks and cash.

As Dr. Seuss would say, "In Katroo, every year, on the day you were born; They start the day right in the bright early morn. When the Birthday Honk-Honker hikes high up Mt. Zorn and lets loose a big blast on the big Birthday Horn, and the voice of the horn calls out loud as it plays: Wake up! For today is your Day of all Days!" (from Happy Birthday to You!). Skilled librarians will introduce little ones to the library and show parents/caregivers invaluable information on reading readiness and create excitement about reading. Be sure to bring all relevant documents with you, e.g. all earning and dividend statements, copies of last year's federal and state returns, and proof of your bank account numbers for direct deposit.
